FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do you offer Low VOC Coatings?

Yes, we offer single pack or heavy duty, two pack water based polyurethane coatings. Low VOC coatings are used in sensitive areas such as nurseries, child care centres and hospitals. There are several benefits to using low VOC coatings, the air quality is better since there are no dangerous fumes, also making the painting process safer. They’re cost effective and durable, often lasting longer than some other high VOC options, clean up is easier, and they are considered safer for the environment.

  • How long does it take to sand a floor?

Each job is unique and there is no way to predict an exact timeline without seeing the project in question. Most floor sanding jobs take between 3 and 5 days. However, to determine a more accurate time frame, we can arrange an onsite consultation.

  • Will there be a lot of dust in the air while sanding and after?

The amount of dust present in the air is minimised because all surfaces are cleaned down prior to coating. Most strippers and sanders have vacuum attachments to collect the dust and keep it to a minimum. Once the job is completed, a wipe down of all surfaces throughout the building will minimise residual dust from the sanding.

  • When can we move back in after floor sanding?

We recommend waiting 2 full days after the final coat has been applied before moving in. However, most manufacturers recommend waiting a full 7 days for the curing process to complete.

  • How long will my floor last?

Depending on how well you care for and maintain your flooring, and the products used, a clean floor should last between 15 and 25 years.
